Tampa Bay Times: Pinellas County Opens Cold Weather Homeless Shelters

Times staff Published: January 2, 2018 Updated: January 3, 2018 at 05:28 PM Pinellas County will open its "cold night shelters" for the homeless on Wednesday and Thursday. The shelters open between 6 and 6:30 p.m. and close the following morning at approximately 6 a.m. Shelter guests are provided a hot evening meal and breakfast the following morning. Emergency shelters open when the temperatures dip below 40 degrees, said Cliff Smith, manager of veterans, social and homeless services for the city of St. Petersburg.
