Tampa Bay Times: Pinellas County Opens Cold Weather Homeless Shelters

Times staff Published: January 2, 2018 Updated: January 3, 2018 at 05:28 PM Pinellas County will open its "cold night shelters" for the homeless on Wednesday and Thursday. The shelters open between 6 and 6:30 p.m. and close the following morning at approximately 6 a.m. Shelter guests are provided a hot evening meal and breakfast the following morning. Pinellas celebrates National 2-1-1 Day on Feb. 11

By SUZETTE PORTER Feb 8, 2016 People in need of help in Pinellas can call 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It is “the virtual front door that listens, cares, and if needed, connects people to a local charity that can help them,” according to Executive Director Micki Thompson.
