Health and human service providers can many times address the needs of individuals and families through their own services but sometimes need to connect with other community services to address all the needs of their clients. That is where 2-1-1 can help! Health and human service professionals can use 2-1-1 as a resource to build their own library of services as well as for helping their client search for services.

Law Enforcement

Law enforcement agencies regularly encounter people who need assistance beyond the scope of their services. As an officer or deputy, you may come across different situations on patrol, in youth services or in schools, where individuals and families are struggling with financial, housing, counseling, mental wellness, and substance abuse issues.

Although law enforcement is always there for our citizens regardless of their circumstances, all officers and deputies can utilize 2-1-1 as a resource.

First Responders

First responders are often the first medically trained professionals to arrive on the scene of emergencies and accidents. First responders are normally police officers, EMTs, and firefighters who regularly come in contact with individuals and families who are anxious, stressed, or having a hard time coping. They may encounter people who need assistance beyond the scope of their services. 2-1-1 can be a resource for individuals and families with financial, housing, counseling, mental wellness and substance abuse issues, and much more.

Educators

Teachers regularly come into contact with children, families, and individuals that are struggling with developmental disabilities, child care, food, housing stability, domestic violence, as well as mental wellness and substance abuse issues, As an educator want to reach out and assist right then and there, but sometimes you may struggle with information on where to direct people for help. That is where 2-1-1 can help! Educators can use 2-1-1 as a resource.

HR Professionals

Whether you are an HR professional or a small business owner, you may be aware of certain situations where your employees may be struggling with financial, legal, housing, child care, counseling, mental wellness, and substance abuse issues.

Whether or not your business utilizes an EAP program, you still want to provide support to your employees by using 2-1-1 as a resource. In addition to traditional services such as counseling programs, child care information, financial assistance programs, etc., 2-1-1 also provides information on back to school and health fairs, where your employees can receive additional support.

Faith Community

Church secretaries, pastors, and youth ministry leaders, regularly come into contact with individuals and families that are struggling with financial, housing, child care, counseling, mental wellness and substance abuse issues. As a faith community member you want to reach out and assist right then and there, but sometimes you may struggle with information on where to direct people for help. That is where 2-1-1 can help! Faith community members can use 2-1-1 as a resource.

From time to time faith community organizations provide direct assistance for the general public such as food pantries, bus passes, as well as other financial assistance. If your faith community organization is looking to expand the reach of your program, you may want to consider listing your new program in the 2-1-1 database. If your organization already is listed with 2-1-1 you may want to update your organization listing online in our 2-1-1 database. Keep in mind if you are listing a program or service with 2-1-1 it must be open to the general public and not limited to only existing congregational members.
