What is Ride United?
Ride United is a partnership between 211 Tampa Bay Cares and the United Way Worldwide. With generous support from the General Motors Foundation and Lyft Ride Share, Ride United provides free round trip short-term rides via Lyft Ride Share for those with transportation barriers and who meet eligibility.

What makes you eligible for a Ride United ride?
- The need for your ride must fall into one of the use cases above.
- You must be unable to pay for your own ride, bus pass, or repair your working car.
- Short-term rides are a full round trip to and from a single location. Multi-leg trips are not allowed. Drivers can not re-route once in the car.
- Driver safety is important and drivers can cancel rides or ask riders to leave the car.
- Electronic wheelchair vans are not available at this time. We can accommodate foldable wheelchairs.
- You must provide your own car seats for the safety of all minor children.

Do i have to tip the driver?
No. This is a free service provided by 211 and Lyft. Tipping is not necessary. We got you covered.
Do i need to bring anything on my ride?
If you have minor children, you will need car seats for their safety during the ride. Drivers do not provide car seats. Nothing else is required.
What if I need help in and out of the car?
When booking your ride, please let the Ride United Coordinator know you need assistance. We will alert the driver privately of your needs while they are in transit. The driver will be more than happy to help you.
What if I need help with my bags, walker, or wheelchair?

What do I do if my ride is canceled or doesn't show up?
Contact 211 by phone or text as soon as you are aware of the cancellation or no show. 211 will work with you and Lyft to resolve the issues as quickly as possible and get you to your destination.
What do I do if I had a bad ride United experience?
Your rider experience using Ride United is very important to the integrity of the program. For any reason, you have an issue during your ride. After your ride, contact 211 by phone or text so we can track your experience. We will investigate and report your experience to the United Way Worldwide and Lyft.
